My wife bought this flat iron for herself because she hated all the other flat irons she had tried. I didn't want her to spend that much money on one ($103 at Regis) but I knew she had been wanting a good one, so I said go for it.

I don't have long hair at all, but I do tend to spike my hair and I have found that using the flat iron helps with getting just the right look that I am going for. I wish the flat iron didn't get so hot though. There is only one heat setting and for just a small amount of hair and especially for a guy who is trying to get close to a root, it can get pretty warm.

It doesn't cool down quite as fast as I would like. My wife sometimes leaves it on the bathroom counter in the morning when she leaves for work and I have burned my hand a couple times when I thought it was cool & it wasn't.
