Chicago Cutlery Is Affordable And Well Made By AmyBrantley on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Food Network has made santoku knives very popular. If you watch Food Network, you've probably seen popular chefs, like Rachael Ray, use this type of knife. This is what led me to add the Chicago Cutlery 7" Santoku Knife to my Christmas list a couple years back.

Once I received this knife, I was impressed by the weight and size. The Chicago Cutlery Santoku Knife is not only effective, but it looks amazing. The knife has a full tang construction and is made from stainless steel.

If you aren't familiar with a santoku knife, the blade has indentions that make it easier for the food to fall away once cut. The knife's ability to do this really depends on what you're cutting. For example, I found that onions easily fall away, but potatoes do not.

Regardless, this is a great knife. I've had it almost 2 years and haven't had to sharpen it once. Plus, at a price of $12, you can't go wrong.
