Chinet Classic White Paper Plates By JOEY on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

When me and my girlfriend were shopping in B.J.'S Warehouse we decided to pick up some paper dinner plates so as to not get stuck washing dishes all the time. We decided to give the Chinet brand a try. They are certainly big enough at 10 3/8 inches. They are made from recycled material and are biodegradable. These dinner plates come in a good size package of 165.

They claim these are made of premium strength paper. We have used them for salads and also sandwiches and spaghetti. What is missing from these is some kind of a barrier or shield to help out with food items that are on the wet side. They do well with sandwiches & chips, salads do ok as well but when you try and use them for spaghetti that is where they show their weakness. The combination of the weight and wetness of the spaghetti is like kriptonite to Superman.

I have seen these selling in the stores for quite a few years now. Their mistake is to call these dinner plates and perhaps to refer to them being made from premium strength paper. I would recommend them for light duty actually and to stick with dry food items when using them. Not really a bad product if used within its limits.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure to buy something stronger for my spagetti parties. I would have to agree with you, they should make paper plates stronger.
