Chocolate Candy Mold
By Alice onFor the past two years I have been collecting Metal Chocolate Candy Molds, mainly from Europe.Being Dutch, I only collect the St. Nicholas molds (also know as Sinterklaas), by himself, or on his horse, and also his sidekick Black Peter (better know by the Dutch as Zwarte Piet). The one I have pictured here is one I found recently on ebay, the best place I have found to look for these.St. Nicholas is on his horse, stands about 8 inches tall by 6 inches wide. The condition of this piece was very good to excellent and I plan to use this mold next Christmas, not only to make a chocolate mold for my daughters but then to decorate my home with for the season.I take the molds and arrange them on my dining room table with fresh greenery and candles surrounding them.It makes a great centerpiece and is so easy to put together.Finding these particular molds can be addictive, expensive and fun.

Never heard of these. Most interesting!
you know it's really sad...i'm your daughter and didn't even know you collected chocolate molds...lol what the heck!
This sounds really cool! I have never heard of anyone collecting candy molds :D I would love to see more pictures of how you decorate with them, very unique.
Great find! I've never used a chocolate mold but I like the idea of using them for decorations, too.
Wow I had never thought of chocolate molds.
I used to work for a chocolatier, and antique metal molds that had been handed down in his family for several generations were a big part of our Easter bunny production. Although they're a lot heavier, I liked working with the antique metal molds much better than the plastic.
I'd never heard of chocolate molds before - thanks for teaching me something new!
oh what a very nice collection! i am not much a collector myself for lack for space, but i admire those who do. and yours is one unique collection. i have not met anyone collecting metal molds yet. :D
