Christmas Chocolate; A Perfect Combo By JennEm on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Hershey Pennsylvania is an excellent destination for families any time of year, but it is especially magical at Christmas. We took our daughter, who was an infant, and our favorite 9 & 5 year olds.
This time of year the theme park is alive with lights and fun. Not all the rides are open in the winter, but plenty of them are. Almost all the rides for kids were open and that's what we were there for anyway. The kids had a great time on the rides. We also got kettle corn (yum!) and the kids had their picture taken with a big chocolate bar.
At Christmas Hershey also has a fantastic drive-thru lights display. This is a must-see. The cost is about $20 per car. You drive through what is normally a field and some woods to see the incredible light displays. The kids were amazed. I really enjoyed it, too!
Of course Chocolate World is open year-round.
We stayed in a Comfort Inn just outside Hershey. It was great, and we'd stay there again for sure. If you have more money to spend you can opt for the Hershey Lodge. There is also the Hershey Hotel but it's really more for couples than famliies.
As they say, it's the sweetest place on earth.

This is somewhere I have always wanted to go. Unfortunately I never went while I lived in NJ and now I am so far away (CO) that the opportunity may have passed me by!! One day perhaps I will have my pic taken beside a giant chocolate bar - although it may be slightly smaller once I have visited, LOL - sluuuuurp!!!
This place sounds great and I have heard a lot about it. You make me want to go even more now, I may have to talk to the fiance and convince her to go. Chocolate World sounds like my kind of place.
I look forward to going back there and Christmas time seems to be a perfect time for that. I went years ago when a friend of ours got married and we visited the park. My hubby didn't get to go so we need to plan it. Thanks for the review.
