This mascara was included as a promo free gift with another Clinique purchase I had made. The dark-green tube contains 0.14 oz. of the product (that's the freebie "trial" version; the regular one is 0.28 oz, I believe). I was a bit wary at first because of the name of this mascara, High Impact. Does this mean something drastic? Am I going to end up with those huge, heavy, fake-looking lashes?

My doubts were partially disspelled when I first opened the mascara and pulled out the brush. The brush looked very clean, no globs of mascara on it as it sometimes happens with way-too-thick formulas. Okay, so this one isn't too thick. Good. I proceeded to apply it and was rather surprised to see how gentle the mascara was, both in application and in the result: the first coat glided easily on and just darkened my natural color a little. I let it dry, as the directions advise, and then applied the second coat. This time, my lashes looked fuller and longer, but again, nothing too drastic.

The mascara is available in two shades, Black and Black/Brown. It is not waterproof and is easily remover with any eye makeup remover.
