Clinque Clarifying Lotion By Kari Livingston on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Clinique Clarifying Lotion is the second step in Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care plan. Step 2 is marketed as being for normal and combination skin, but it is too harsh and too full of alcohol for all but the oilest skin. The clarifying lotion is designed to remove any traces of make-up that the Step One cleanser left behind and to deflake the skin. It does remove make-up, but it removes the benficial oils from the skin and leaves skin feeling dry and tight. My skin burned after using the product and it stayed sensitive for several hours afterwards. There isn't much of a scent beyond that of rubbing alcohol. At 11.50 for an 8 ounce bottle, this product is also expensive. It might be appropriate for someone with very oily skin, but for those with normal to combination skin, a milder toner at a cheaper price is recommended.
