Coalface Soap By rogue34 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Like many LUSH products, Coalface soap contains many natural ingredients such as licorice root, rosewood oil, sandalwood oil, and charcoal.
Application is very easy as all you need are your hands and a damp face. You lather up the soap and apply in a circular motion. There is some exfoliation with use of this product but not enough to really clean out your pores.
LUSH recommends using a moisturizer after this product and that is very good advice. The soap, while clearing up my few pimples, stripped my face of all oils. I do not believe this product should be used by anyone with the oilest skin. I would probably only use this soap again if I had a severe breakout.
My teenaged nephew on the other hand finds that this soap works very well with his acne prone skin. He has had better results clearing up his skin than either ProActiv or the statin drugs he was using.
Another negative point about this soap is the scent. Unless you like the smell of charcoal, you probably won't use this soap for it's aroma.

Thanks for introducing another good and helpful product Rogue! I'm going to suggest my son try it.
I think you mean that it's good if your skin is very oily. I don't think I would mind the charcoal smell.
