Colgate Soft Bristle Toothbrush By Karen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My dentist gave me this toothbrush when I went for a routine cleaning. It is a soft bristle Colgate toothbrush. I need the soft bristles because my gums are very sensitive.

It is your basic toothbrush (let's face it, your dentist isn't going to give you anything that special for free). It has a nice comfortable grip to it, but I didn't see where this toothbrush cleaned my teeth any better than other toothbrushes that I had used in the past. The one that I have has higher bristles on the outer perimeter and lower bristles in the center. It does a fairly good job of cleaning my teeth, but it is nothing exceptional. I guess for a basic toothbrush, it is OK, but I would rather have a toothbrush that has a tongue cleaner to it as well.

When I purchase my next toothbrush, I am going to look for something more than just a basic brush. I want something that will get my teeth really clean and will massage my gums without being abrasive, as well as having a tongue cleaning feature. I guess I'll be doing some searching until I find the right one.
