Colorsilk Hair Dye A Relief For Red Heads By Andee on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have dyed my hair twice before, and both times it was a medium auburn color similar to Revlon Colorsilk #42. This hair dye, however, has to be my favorite so far. The color guide on the box matched my final color almost perfectly, no surprises and no need to touch it up. The Revlon Colorsilk line claims to "Leave hair in better condition than before you colored," while I'm not sure about that claim it certainly didn't do any damage to my hair. The dye itself left my hair feeling rough and dry, but the after coloring conditioner brought it back to its normal silky condition.
Colorsilk is also ammonia free, which makes it less damaging and fine for repeated use. It unfortunately still has a strong odor, and I would recommend that users dye their hair in a well ventilated room. I had a friend apply the dye for me, and it was a little messier than my usual brand. Overall though I was very satisfied with Revlon's Colorsilk line of hair dye and I plan to use it again.
Revlon Colorsilk #42 Medium Auburn

I have been coloring my hair for over 35 years. I have tried every hair color product... cheap to expensive and also salon hair coloring. Nothing compares to the price and quality of Colorsilk. I have used almost every Colorsilk shade of color from the lightest blonde to the darkest auburn. I have just switched from light blonde now back to my natural medium auburn color (without the grey)....and as always I get the best results! What would I have liked to know before I made my purchase? Nothing! Revlon is a quality manufacturer since the beginning of Hollywood stars...what else do you need to know!
