The booney hat made by Columbia is a great hat to wear to the beach, on a boat, or anytime you are outdoors and want to block the sun. The hat has a fairly wide brim that goes all the way around the hat. So, in addition to protecting your face like a regular ball hat would, it protects the back of you neck as well.
It is very comfortable, and seems as if it would fit most sizes. It is made out of a lightweight cotton fabric that has a little nylon in it so it wicks moisture away. It has small venting holes that help prevent it from getting too hot. There is also a strap that runs under your chin to keep it in place in the wind. For this reason, it's a great hat to wear in a boat. If you don't want to wear the strap, it easily tucks into the hat.
I highly recommend this booney hat. It's fun, and is really effective at keeping the sun off your head.

My husband had quite a few of these boonie hats and wore them until there was no shape left to them. I'd often borrow his just because they were so light and comfortable. A great hat for out on the water or hiking in the woods.
