Comcast DVR - Don't count on it!
By Debbie831 onAll you comcast users be careful of this one. I have had a lot of problems with my DVR and I am not happy being that I count on that machine! I have had to call Comcast numerous times because it is not recording, says it is full and can't record anymore (even though there isn't anything on it). Comcast has replaced it twice and I am now waiting on the thrid one (they are out of them in the warehouse - gee am I surprised!!). I love the idea of the DVR love what it does jsut wish it would work!!! I am pretty disappointed that I am paying $11.95 a month for something that doesn't work. Of course Comcast has said once they replace it they will credit me the days it didn't work but I just want a DVR that does what it says its suppose to. Heres a hint, if you are having the same problem I found a solution, cut the power on the DVR and it will reset..not the best solution but it does work and until they bring me a new one at least I can record.

Paying for something that doesn't work? Oh my! I think I would be looking into another product or getting my refund for each month they take to get more in stock. I don't have one but this one sounds like a stinker.
We had such problems with Comcast (hardware and service) that we switched to FiOs. Comcast's DVR is unreliable at best!
Thats horrible. I haven't had any problems yet.... *crossing my fingers*
This is totally unacceptable. I would be ripping things out of the wall.
Sorry it isn't that relable. I had a problem with my DVR once like you are describing, it says it is full but it isn't. Not sure what caused it but it hasn't happened again (knock on wood)
Geez... what a crummy deal! I hope you've gottenit resolved by now.
Dish's Dvr can also have recording problems.
I hate Comcast and would go to dialup rather than ever pay them a penny again. Their service stinks, their tech support is dim and they are way overpriced to boot.
I wondered how comcast was. Thanks for the tips.
