"Tall women have large feet" - is something my mom told me when I was a kid. Probably to assure me that I would take height as I grow older, and would definitely not be the short girl with the unusually big feet!

As I entered my adolescent years, my height didn't seem to be incresing at a rapid rate, unfortunately, my feet did! Because my big shoe size, my parents always found it difficult to buy me a good pair of shoes from the children's section of the shoe stores.

Most of the time I would end up with shoes one size too small, due to which I used to suffer from foot problems like corns, bunions, ingrown toe nails.

Hence, shoe shopping is something that I dread to do even today, as I can never seem to get the perfect pair. But on rare occasions, when I do come across a pairs of shoes perfectly sculpted just for me, I consider it nothing short of divine intervention (don't smirk now).

One such occasion came last month when I went shopping for a new pair of wedges, which are by the way my favourite kind of shoe. Browsin through the "New Arrivals" section, I saw the cutest pair of open-toed, navy blue wedges, with a white trim and a back strap. The brand name was Naturalizer, and the shoe was from the Sherene collection.

I asked the clerk to get me a wide in a size 40, which is a 9.5 in America. They not only looked great, but fit perfectly. Plus, the heel added 2" to my height, so I was not complaining.

A month later, and I have been wearing them everywhere - shopping, cinema, school, even church! Since I am not a 'dress girl', I wear them with trousers and jeans. They go with both casual and formal wear. And I have even worn them with the traditional churidar-kameez, although I wouldn't recommend it, as it did look quite odd.

I would just like to mention that my friend who bought the same show in a narrow and smaller size, keeps complaining that it pinches her toes and that the strap keeps slipping off her heels. There have been no such discomforts in my experience. The strap stays in place, even when I am in a sprint, and my toes have never hurt. Incidentally, I suffer from ingrown nails on my big toes, and the peep-toe is actually beneficial to me.

I love shoes that love my precious tootsies... sounds cheesy? Well, that's just the way it is. Sherene by Naturalizer, is a brand that is stylish and most importantly comfortable. I would definitely consider buying again, probably the same wedges in a different color.

These are so cute! I wear a size 10 and have trouble finding cute shoes in my size. They always seem to have them in size 6 though!
