Comfy Cube Is Comfy, But Doesn't Hold Up By KimberlyMarie on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I will be completely honest... I very much prefer using handmade fleece hammocks for the rats. They hold up much better.

However, we got some commercial hammocks donated to our rat rescue, so of course, we use them.

The Marshall cube is my favorite of them all, but it's just not up-to-par on what I'd hope for. First off, the straps.... Not so good. They work, but the quality of the hooks aren't my cup of tea. The straps seems to entice the rats to chew, chew, chew. Of course, once the straps are gone, that's it...

The rats love the cube. I have a group of 5 girls that loved to pile in there, and some would lay on top. However, they “edited” the cube to their liking, and now no one stays inside.

Granted, when you use any sort of product with rodents, they aren't going to last a very long time if you have chewers. But the girls who I use the cube with aren't extreme chewers with any other hammocks, and this one is about done for.

All in all, I'd buy it on extreme sale. They did love it, for sure. But I wouldn't break the bank.
