Common Be By amitface on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

"Be" is the sixth studio album released by the hip-hop artist Common. Unlike much of the modern rap music that is popular today, "Be" goes against the grain with positive lyrics dealing with real issues. The subject matter throughout the album deals with topics such as crime in neighborhoods, being faithful to one's mate, and aspiring to be great. Common conveys these messages while maintaining excellent rhythm and flow, all while producing creative rhymes.

The album was produced in its entirety by Kanye West, and as a result, contains fresh beats and original musical components. There are plenty of guest appearances on this album, including Kanye West, John Mayer, John Legend, and the Last Poets.

"Be" is an excellent hip-hop album that is unlike much of the music out today, both lyrically and musically. I enjoyed it very much, and was inspired after listening to it.

I recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of good music, whether it be hip-hop or not.
