If you're playing on a next generation console such as the Playstation 3, you should be viewing it in high definition in order to get the best experience. In order to do so, you are going to need the right cables to connect it to your television. Sony's component AV cables do the job, presenting a high quality image, and are sturdy and cheap to boot.

The cable itself is about ten feet long, which is more than long enough for a traditional audio/visual setup. If the plugs to your sound system are not located near the television, however, you will probably need different cables.

The connectors themselves are of high quality (24K gold), and are sturdily made. I do not forsee myself needing to replace them for many years, if ever. The cable itself is quite thick and unlikely to rip or tear unless chewed on by a determined pet.

For someone who doesn't want to spend upwards of fifty dollars on truly high-end cables, these are the ones to get. They offer high quality for a reasonable price, and do their job admirably. They can even be used with a PS2, if you so desire. Recommended.
