Considering Birth Control? Read This. By Kurenai on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I've been using this medication ever since I was thirteen due to horrid period cramps being frequent in my family. The problem got to severe, I had to be hospitalized due to it, and that's when my gynecologist prescribed me Ortho.

Ortho is easy to get started on, just start the roll on the Sunday of your period. It takes about two weeks to get effective if you're considering intercourse though. After my initial trial, I noticed 90% improvement when it came to my periods. There was no pain, no horrible bloating, no cramps, and the flow itself wasn't as bad as it used to be. The Ortho also synchronizes the days when periods are supposed to occur, which is great for those women who are used to having unsynched periods.

As for the contraceptive part of Ortho, it also meets it's purpose in that aspect as well. I highly recommend this to women who have horrible periods that need to be controlled. And best of all, this is even covered by insurance.
