Construction Sand Box

We were lucky enough to get this sand box at a garage sale for only $5!The price at Walmart is $124!If you care to spend that much on a sand box, it really is worth it.My four year old grandson really loves it! It is made to look like a construction site, with lots of great features that make it fun for boys and girls.

The sand box is made of durable plastic, as all Little Tikes toys are, however, the crane bucket was cracked when we bought it (that's why we got it for only $5).I have no way of knowing how long the prior owners had it before this happened, and if it happened because of rough use, but I was able to contact Little Tikes and get a replacement piece and now it is in perfect shape.

The container that holds the sand is made to look like a sand pit with a hill on the side that the children can drive their toy trucks down into the sand to get loaded with the crane.The crane is operated with levers that allow the bucket to scoop up the sand and drop it.There are tabs on each side of the crane that prevent them from dumping the sand outside the box.There is a lid that not only keeps the sand clean and dry when not in use, but is made with roads built into it as an extension to the play surface of the sand box.

My grandson played with this almost daily last year, so you can't get a better recommendation than that!
