Contra 4

Contra 4 is a continuation of the console series that spans over 20 years. Contra 4 is a 2D sidescrolling action game that puts you in the role of a commando fighting an alien invasion. The graphics are a nice update but reach back from the 8 bit years. Things are simple and dont obscure the action. A lot of the sounds will bring back memories of years past while the music is varied enough to drive the action.

Contra isnt about prettiness though, its about pain. The difficulty of all the past games has not changed. Youll have to play levels many times to beat a certain area or boss while keeping enough lives to make it through. Each mode of difficulty provides continues that youll need to make it to the end. As always gameplay is fast paced and very tight, which leaves little room or excuse for error.

Unlockables give you a reason to challenge the higher difficulties, and provide you with many additional hours of entertainment. Overall, Contra 4 is a worthy continuation of the popular series and is great on-the-go game.
