Cooking Light Magazine By pippy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have been a subscriber of Cooking Light magazine for the last four years. After getting married, I realized I did not have many skills in the kitchen. My mother-in-law gave me this magazine subscription as a gift (hint hint). Since then I have been using it almost daily to plan meals, large and small.

The online version, cookinglight.com is very helpful. Simply list ingredients that you have in your frig in the search box and it will provide back a list of recipes for you to choose from. If you are asked to bring dishes to events or potlucks, this is a great resource to provide something unique that surely no one else will bring.

In the back of the magazine, there is a very helpful index that categories the issue's recipies by Appetizers, Beverges, Breads, Cookies, Desserts, Grains, Main Dishes (Beef, Fish, Pork, Poultry, Vegetarian), Pasta, Salads, Sandwiches, Sauces, Sides and Soups and Stews. Following the index of all recipes, it then lists the Greatest Hits - the 5 best recipes of the issue, chosen by magazine staff.
