Cool Spot is a side-scrolling game similar to Super Mario. The story goes that Cool Spot (he's actually the 7up mascot) must rescue his friends who have been kidnapped. He must win through each of the 10 levels, getting items and power ups along the way.

What I like about this game is that it has a light mood. The graphics are childish, and yet they appear smooth and nice to look at. The scenarios of each of the levels are creatively and artistically done. I find the enemies are also quite unique from other side-scrolling adventure games. There are also bonus levels, which isn't so bad at all.

The only downside is that Cool Spot is too short. It probably just takes around an hour to play.

Despite that, I would recommend Cool Spot as a good game for the Sega Genesis Console.
