Coral Watching By Chris Kong on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

We went to Sabah's famous Pulau Sapi to catch coral using those glass bottom boat. After much bargain with the boat operator we got to watch corals at RM 300 for half an hour ride for a group of 10 of us instead of the original price of RM 350. With much excitement we boarded the boat but it was a total disappointment!

First , the glass bottom which was supposed to be clear and transparent was green and infested with algae. Due to lack of maintainence, making those supposed to be super beautiful corals ugly and green!!Then the swaying of the boat when it stopped halfway made us really giddy and some of my friends nearly got sea sick from the swaying.

With boat in those conditions, we should have opted for snorkeling instead of coral watching!! With snorkeling we can see many beautiful fishes swimming around us and beautiful corals below us!! So never go coral watching on those boats while in Sabah.

I've always wanted to have a ride in a glass bottom boat... Of course, it has to be clean, LOL! :)
