Corel Paint Shop Pro Xi By Jennifer Claerr on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I am a long-time user of Paint Shop Pro. I've been using this image processing software since it was a Windows 3.1 application. I was regularly using Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 when I downloaded the trial version of Corel Paint Shop Pro XI to see what it was all about.

I examined the software application carefully, and found that it is relatively the same as Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8. It really doesn't have any useful features that the older version doesn't have. There were some automatic, one-step functions which had been added which I had no use for. I did notice that the clarify tool had a wider range and seemed to work much more effectively. However, the program also ate more memory and crashed a lot, whereas Jasc Paint Shop Pro was a very stable program.

I recommend this program to anyone who is new to Paint Shop Pro. If you already have a somewhat older version of the program, you might as well stick with what you've got.
