Corsair XMS2
By Phreakuency onCorsair has long since been known as one of the ultimate makers of memory for gamers, and there is a good reason why. I purchased 4 GB (2 pairs of matched 1GB sticks) of the Corsair XMS2 800Mhz memory to replace my old 4GB of PNY 667.
While overclocking, to my surprise the voltages did not need to be raised to allow for higher clocks, and heat was not an issue. This memory has worked flawlessly on my Asus P5K Deluxe motherboard, and has great potential.
While using the PNY memory, my Crysis framerates where 25-37 fps with all settings on High. When the memory was replaced with the Corsair I was gettingaround 38-45 fps. Boot time has been reduced by about 3 seconds, as well as a great reduction on Winamp load time (around 400GB of music, so loading mp3 data takes a long time).
Just to state my specs upon testing:
Asus P5K Deluxe
nVidia 8800GT
Ageia PhysX card
800 Watt Antec Power Supply
1.6TB of hard drive space (boot drive is a Western Digital Raptor X)
Razer Barracuda Soundcard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
