With rising gas prices, we decided we needed to purchase a car seat for my husband's car. He gets about 10 mile more per gallon with his Toyota Corolla than my Saturn Vue. I didn't want to spend a lot of money since we would only be using this car seat on occasion, yet I didn't want to compromise on comfort and safety. I went to our local Wal-Mart and found the Cosco Scenera for only $49.84. It had all of the features I was looking for - a 5-point harness, rear-facing to 35 lbs and Latch equipped. Basically this car seat was perfect for what we needed it for.

This car seat does not come in a box. Rather, it comes in a clear plastic bag for easy portability. It is also a great way to keep the car seat clean and protected when not in use - especially if being stored in a garage or attic.

The Scenera was very easy for my husband to install. I was amazed at how tight he got the seat in. I was barely able to move it - even an inch.

My son likes this car seat and finds it comfortable. He was even able to nap in it while we were traveling. My only wish was that this car seat had a bit more padding or EPS foam. However, for the occasional use it is fine.

The car seat comes with a detachable cup holder, but I found that it detaches too easily and we decided not to use it.

Another plus of this car seat is that it is FAA approved. It is also only 10 pounds so it is very convenient for travel.

The padded fabic cover is easy to remove and is machine washable - a must when you have a toddler.

I would highly recommend this car seat as a second seat or an occasional use seat. I think it is a perfect car seat for a second car or even the baby sitter's or grandparents' car.
