Cost Efficient Double Layer Dvd By poshpost on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Storage is getting to be a problem in the computer being used at our store. We do have some external hard drives, but we still find the use of discs important. But the regular CDs and DVDs are way down there in terms of memory space.

So I was glad that companies finally came up with Dual Layer DVD-R. With its 8.5GB capacity, I sure can store a lot of designs made on Corel Draw already! The speed in burning is okay, but considering the amount of data it stores, burning may really take a while (depending on the computer's speed) and slow down the unit's other operations.

But just the same, I am happy with this new innovation. I can't really say much about its longevity. I have been storing files in a number of the DVDs I bought for about a year now and been using them, too. They are still fine, but I am not sure how they will be the following year.

It comes in a hard plastic case, so it is easier to store and is more protected.

We do a lot of storage using CDs also it saves a lot of space in my hard drive, and since my computer is in fact one of the first prehistoric ( Steam Powered ) computers any saving of space is welcome.
