Counter Strike: Source By Alex71 By Alex71 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Counter-Strike: Source is a First-Person Shooter game developed by Valve Software. It pits a two teams-- Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists--in a "Plant-the-Bomb" or hostage situation.
I enjoy the game for numerous reasons. The graphics are (or at least were, back in 2004) great! Not to mention it runs awesomely on low-end PCs; I get a constant 30+ frames per second in the "de_dust2" level. And this is all running on a GeForce 6600GT, and an AMD Athlon clocked at 1.8 GHz. The game also boasts an awesome physics engine. I found the ragdolls to be extremely life-like. If you wish to play online, this game is one of the largest online FPSes available. There are numerous mods available to enhance your gameplay, including admin mods, realism mods, etc.
However, i've found many flaws in this game. For example, the hitbox registry is off. You can shoot 3 feet behind a moving player and still hit him. There are also a few exploits, but luckily VALVe regularly releases fixes/patches via Steam. The game is very addictive and repetitive. Depending on the game-mode or mod, you'll most likely find yourself either extremely addicted, or completely bored of the game. I believe that the numerous pros make up for the cons in this case, and this is an awesome game.
