Counting Crows Debut August And Everything After By nightwing on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This is one of my favorite CD's, and I have listened to it regularly since it was first released. It is the debut album by the band and shows them in fine form with extremely strong material to play.

There were two huge hits off the album and they are both great and very different. Mr. Jones is a boisterous sing-along type of song while Round Here is deeply introspective and personal. While they are probably the best songs on the album, the rest are quite good as well. Anna Begins has some amazing lyrics. Both A Murder of One and Rain King are standout tracks for their upbeat sound, as the band normally tends to lean toward more mellow sounding material.

This is the disc that started the bands career, and I find it be their finest work. It's one of the finest debut albums I have ever heard with amazing lyrical content.
