Country Acres Apple Cider Mill

If you looking for a nice family destination, try visiting Country Acres Cider Mill in Waynesboro, PA. They give factory tours for groups or by appointment. It is a very interesting tour. Our guide, a minnonight gentleman, was very informative and took us through every step of the apple pressing process. We were shown the giant bins of apples, the apples being loaded into the sorter, which is done by hand. Next we were shown the giant chopper and the press. We got to see the finished product flowing out of the press. Next came the bottling process. After the tour, we all got to taste the cider and were given a small jug to take home. Delicious! This is a family run business that supplies cider to such stores as Wal-Mart, Giant Foods and Food Lion. There are lots of other attractions in the area. Lots of lodging and dining nearby as well.
