Craftsman 11 Line Trimmer By kateri27 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I bought this trimmer because my friend was telling us all about how great trimmers with Sears Hassle Free Line Feed were. The Hassle free line feed is bacsically pre cut line instead of the standard spools that you used to use. I hated the spools, stopping the trimmer to pull out more line, and then right as you are about to finish your lawn you run out of line.
This lawn edger works well for small lawns. The hassle free line feed makes me long for a lawn edger that has a line. The hassle free lines seem to be a hassle. They run out at all the wrong times and you literally have to carry the little packet along with you as you egde.
I have always been so happy with Craftsman products, but this seems a little flimsier then the rest of my craftsman tools.
I bought this about two years ago, and honestly think it is time to replace it. We now have a bigger yard and I need to get something with a little more lasting power!
Craftsman 74535 Purchased at: Sears Price: 49.99

We may be shopping for a new trimmer this summer. I'll remember what you shared about this model - thank you!
Wow, I have never gotten a bad craftsman product. Good to know this is the exception to that rule:0) Thanks for the info.
My husband used this one out at his Dad's property and got so angry he threw it! Trimming grasses on 5 acres and having to stop every 20 feet to reload just doesn't do it.
I'm so surprised about this since it's a Craftsman!! I agree with you kiddo-since you have a larger yard now, upgrade it for peace of mind!
I have never heard of Craftsman's hassle free lawn edger but it seems like a pain in the neck. Sorry to hear that it is flimsy and is a hassle. Guess it is time for a new edger. Nice job!
Sorry to hear that this edger is more of a hassle than its worth. That's too bad. Sounded like a great product at first. Hopefully, Craftsman will redo the design on this one.
Bummer that this didn't work out better for you, for $50 you'd think that it would be a bit more user friendly!
this is the problem with so many of these, thanks for the info
Craftsman usually makes quality products, sorry this didn't live up to your expectations.
