Craftsman Self Propelled Mower By Steven Rupp on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The Sears Craftsman lawn mower with the powerful 6.5 Horsepower Eager-1 engine is a very manly grass-whupping machine.
What's most important about it to me though, is the fact that my wife can operate this beautiful beast with hardly any effort at all.
I am disabled, and the lawncare duties have been relegated to my better half. This Sears Craftsman mower makes what could be a daunting task into a breeze for her. The Eager-1 engine is named for it's feature of taking only one pull on the ripcord to start it. On most other mowers my wife would be huffing and puffing while struggling to pull the cord over and over.
Also, this mower is self-propelled, so there is no struggling to push and pull the machine all over the yard. Just slip it into gear and take a leisurely stroll behind it.
It boasts a 22-inch wide cutting path, and comes with a very high quality rear bag (easier to manuver around yard obstacles than a side bag). Also comes with a steel plate, that slides easily in place to cover the grass chute, thereby converting it into a mulcher.
The Craftsman name is legendary, and this mower certainly lives up to it. It's a high-quality, durable, self-propelled mulcher/bagger with a top-of-the-line one pull-start engine.
It sells for $299.99 at all Sears locations.

Sounds like a good mower. Will definitely consider this model.
I need to be starting to think about replacing my old mower. Maybe I will take a look at this model.
A self propelled lawn mower is worth every single penny you pay for it. And at age 46 and carrying a few extra pounds I wouldn't even consider mowing the yard without one.
This sounds like a perfect mower, especially for women to use. Thanks for the information!
This Sounds Like A Great Lawn Mower! Thanks For Sharing!
that does not seem like too bad of a price for a good lawnmower. Self propelled in the only way to go! Craftsman is a great name and a name you can trust
This is such a great lawn mower! I know we have a Craftsman but don't know if it is self propelled....I'm glad this has been so easy for your wife to use!!!
We own the Craftsman 6.5 22" self push mower. We looked at yours and almost bought it instead. However, for the amount of mowing we have--most can't be touched with a regular mower--we opted to save the extra funds to put into a good weed whacker. Love these mowers though. They really can take a beating. They almost always start on the first pull. Even though we didn't get the self propelled mower, ours is easy to push. Great value in Craftsman, that's for sure.
self propelled are so worth the extra money spent.
