Cranberry Is Not Just A Berry Anymore! By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
All of a sudden, in the past year, I started developing urinary tract infections. I had not had one of those in a long, long time. But I was put on 5 rounds of antibiotics in a row, and nothing worked. I also had to have numerous uncomfortable tests and procedures.
I had always heard that cranberry juice was a great preventative and remedy for urinary tract infections, so I started drinking the juice. But it is difficult to get enough juice each day to be therapeutic, so I was happy to find these Cranberry Supplements by Spring Valley. Just one pill a day supports urinary tract health. Because the supplements are highly concentrated, they have 3 times more of the antioxidant that is found in cranberry juice.
When I remember, I take them daily, and then if I have symptoms of an infection, I increase the dosage, (as well as drink cranberry juice, and lots of water to flush out the bacteria.) Something in cranberries causes the bacteria to be unable to stick to the bladder walls. How neat is that? The Cranberry Supplements, combined with probiotics have helped me stay healthy, and I would always rather use something natural, whenever possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, always consult with a physician. Moderation is usually the key, so don't overdo it.

The magic of cranberries! Great info, thanks for sharing.
I use the same pills. :-) Go figure! With my low immune system, it is essential to have something to keep my urinary tract healthy.
I mentioned, as well, that for many people, the cranberry sadly makes only one or two appearances a year on the dinner table, perched atop the turkey and dressing on the holiday luncheon plate, usually in the form of jellied cranberry sauce (a concoction that I cannot abide, but, for reasons utterly unintelligible to me, my brother adores.) =================== Marsh A Canadian company, Naturally Nova Scotia, makes supplements from foods instead of synthetics. I was plagued with urinary tract infections a few years back. I started drinking cranberry juice on a regular basis and have not had a problem since. This sounds like an easy way to get the same benefits.
