Crate Gfx 20 Guitar Amplifier By Patrick on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This was my second amplifier, and has been a great over the past few years. It has one 10 inch speaker, two channels, equalizer, and eight built in effects. The build quality is very good, and has been extremely durable. This is a great amp for an apartment or bedroom, basically a practice amp, but if you plan on palying with others I would not recommend it. The sound quality is great, but it does not get loud enough for band playing, and higher volume levels result in distorted sound quality. The dirty, or distortion, channel on the amp is another drawback, as it just doesn't sound good at all. This is an easy fix, and I would recommend purchasing a separate distortion pedal. The clean channel, however is great, as well as the build in digital effects. There are two delays, flange, two choruses, and 3 reverbs. All of these sound very good and are easy to use, simply by turning a dial. This has been a wonderful amp for practice, but if you have any plans of playing with others, I would suggest going with a larger, more powerful amp.
