Crayola Color Wonder Soft Sticks By kalar on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Crayola's Color Wonder creations have the potential to be a mother's best friend. That potential, however, falls far short in one of their latest endeavors, the Soft Sticks.

The Crayola Color Wonder Soft Sticks are marker-sized sticks of a white, soft non-toxic substance which, when used on Color Wonder paper, show as whatever color the cap is. They are as miraculous to little ones as the white markers that magically color on Color Wonder paper, but nowhere else.

Unfortunately, the Soft Sticks create exactly what they are meant to avoid, a mess. The soft material disintegrates from the pressure needed to create a drawing on the Color Wonder paper, and although the pieces of stick do not create color on anything but the special paper, they do leave a waxy residue on furniture and clothes.

While the Crayola Color Wonder markers are a great product, the companion Soft Stix fall far short of the non-messy mark.
