Create body magic with this shapeware

I went on a cruise this past summer and I could not find a dress I liked for formal night. I had an older dress in my closet that I had not worn in years that I really wanted to wear but it was very form fitting and currently my form is a bit out of shape. It's nothing some exercise can not fix but exercise is really not my thing so I needed some help.

My husband said the dress looked fine (he is well trained in saying that) but suggested I get some Spanx and wear that under the dress if I was that self conscious about it. At first I said there was no way I was going to wear a girdle but then I gave it some thought and said to myself hey, why not. I knew real Spanx would be out of my price range so I went to Target to see what they had.

I found a collection of shapewear designed for different problem areas by Hanes. They were reasonably priced and came in a few different colors. The one I chose was the sculpting band thigh slimmer. It looks and fits a little like the Lycra bike shorts that were popular back in the 80's. It goes from just above your belly button area down to the middle of your thighs. It has a wide elastic band that goes all the way around which is designed to pull in your tummy and those pesky love handles while at the same time the leg parts tighten up those thighs. It is made from a slick satin so your clothes glide over the top of it and lay smoothly.

When I first tried it on, I felt really silly but once I put the dress on over it and saw the difference it made, I was very pleased. It held in all my problem areas and since the dress was skin tight, the satin fabric actually made it look smoother than when it was against my bare skin. The slimmer had an added benefit for me too because it held me in place and made me stand up straighter at the same time which made my back feel great.

Wearing the slimmer gave me confidence to wear my dress and not have to constantly worry how I looked or if I needed to suck something in. I never thought I would ever wear one of these but after using it, I am very glad that I did.
