Creating Characters How To Build Story People By hoover3875 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Writer's Digest Book Club's Creating Characters How to Build Story People is very helpful when creating story characters. There are seventeen chapters in the one hundred and ninety-five page book. The first chapter is about the core of the character. Next is about searching out your character. These are followed by chapters on labels, fleshing out, the world within one and two and breath of life. Next are chapters on background, offbeat characters, how to treat a character and how to make a character amusing. This is followed by the chapters on the right words, the things characters say, variations on a theme, dynamics of disbelief, and the search for zest. This book gives a writer plenty of information to think about. There are also exercises in it to help flush out ideas. I read this book when I write my character sketches. It is also very helpful when creating ideas for stories. There are no pictures in this book.

This sounds like a great handbook for writers.
