Creating Poetry By hoover3875 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Writer's Digest Book Club's Creating Poetry is a great way to stimulate a poet's mind. The first chapter is about preparing to write poetry. The next deals with language. Following is the chapter on sight and sound. Then there is one on movement and shaping. Patterns and traditions, voice, sources of inspiration and things to write about come next. This is followed by other arts, other influences and finishing. There are many different exercises to help with writing poetry. Also there are book references in each chapter to help with reading. Reading other poets' work is very important. I use this book when I have writer's block and it has always worked to help me write. This is a great book for those kids who are in school and have any poetry assignments to do.
