Crestor For High Cholesterol By Karen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My husband is taking cholesterol lowering medication, Crestor. His doctor provides him with samples and he takes it on a regular basis.

Crestor seems to be working for him. His cholesterol is within normal range. As far as side effects go, I know every drug has them. My husband doesn't seem to be experiencing any side effects, but he is a diabetic. With all of the things going on in his body, he could be having side effects and not even know it. Both my husband and I hate taking prescription medication. We are hoping that with a good diet and exercise, we can control blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol to the point where neither one of us will need medication. I have high cholesterol myself, but so far my doctor has not put me on medication because he said my good cholesterol was high. I watch my diet and am trying to lower my cholesterol by the foods that I eat (and don't eat).

All in all, I guess I would have to say my husband has been having good results with Crestor. He takes one 10 mg tablet a day, and his cholesterol has been normal while he has been on it. But his goal is to eventually get off of medication. Until then, Crestor seems to work for him.
