Crocs Mammoth By Jennz By jennz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Crocs seem to have become the latest rage in footwear so it was only natural that they would design something for cold weather wear - the Mammoth is just that. The Mammoth is based on the original croc design, then the bottom holes are covered, the back strap is removed and a "wooly" liner is inserted. What you end up with is a very comfortable very warm shoe! These shoes have kept my feet very warm even outside in 20 degree weather without socks - when it gets colder I'll put some socks on too, but the liner is very thick. Because of the thickness of the liner I ordered these a full size larger for me, my husband, and daughter and they fit us all great so I definitely recommend ordering a size up. The liner is removable for washing and it comes with instructions on the tag - read these before you toss because it can be a little tricky the first time you do it! The only draw back is the arch support - like all crocs, they form to your foot after you've been wearing them a while but it takes a little longer for me to get that comfort with the Mammoth, maybe because the liner keeps them from warming up. Since I have planter fasciitis this is a drawback, but I can still wear these crocs with little pain. Overall - great, comfy and warm shoe!
