Crystal Cove State Park California By Mom2One on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

If in the Orange County area in California make sure to stop at Crystal Cove State Park.

After a few days of sightseeing and visiting theme parks, we decided to take it easy and visit this beautiful state park. I am so glad we did.

This is located off Pacific Coast Highway between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach. It is 3 miles of coastline. To get here just park in the lot and then walk through the tunnel. The neat thing is the tunnel takes you under the Pacific Coast Highway. All of us thought that was pretty cool.

One of my favorite area of the park was what is called the historic district. It has rustic cottages. The cottages have been restored to how they looked in the 1930s-1950s.

I guess you can rent one of these for an overnight, but we did not check into that. We just enjoyed walking along the cottages and looking at them.

I love walking along the beaches, by far my favorite is Pelican Point, we saw a lot of wildlife, such as starfish, crabs and pelicans.

This area seems to get busier as the day goes on but everyone we ran into was very friendly.

I just enjoyed walking along and people watch. This was a great way to unwind after a busy California vacation. This area is very pretty and the scenery is amazing. I felt like I was a million miles away from the "real" world.

If you are in the area, I would definitely check it out.
