Csi Facial Reconstruction Crime Scene Kit By dsnygrl on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
My daughter loves to watch CSI, all of them and is loves science so I thought this would be a great gift for her. In all honesty this is something I would have loved to have had when I was her age. The CSI facial reconstruction kit comes with a head form, plastic eyes, a form for a nose, a form for ears, 2 pounds of clay, sculpting tools, spacers, a rolling pin and a thing to roll the clay on. Your job it to use the tools provided and reconstruct the face to see what the person would look like when they were alive and then using the materials given solve who they were and what happened to them. The spacers are used to give the face dimension and mark the palces where skin is thicker. For some parts you just apply the clay and then use the tools to smoth it out, in other parts you roll the clay on the rolling board and it rolls it to the perfect thickness for the part of the face you are applying it to. You then sculpt in things like the ears, hair, lips, eyebrows, etc. My daughter and her friend spent to whole night of a sleepover doing it and had a great time. It kept them interested until it was done. You can only sculpt it one time but my daughter keeps her head we call Fred, in her room and uses him to hold her earings and hair clips. He is a little scarey looking but she loves him so that is all that matters.
