Cuisinart 20 piece knife set

I have had this knife set for a little over a year. They work very well, but I have noticed that the handles on all of the knives are cracking. I use the knives often, but am not overly rough on them. I called the company and they do not manufacture the knife sets themselves, and sent me to an outside company that makes knife sets under many different brand names.

The woman I spoke with said that the cracks in the handles probably happened because I put them in the dishwasher rather than washing by hand and the extreme heat cracked the plastic handle. The up side to this is that they offered to replace the set for free, no questions asked. They didnt even want to see any proof that I had bought the Cuisinart set in the first place. This was amazing customer service and I will be sure to hand wash the new set.
