Curtains Can Be More Than Window Coverings By AmyBrantley on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I hate to be watching TV when the evening sun is causing a glare on the screen. This led me to look for a set of curtains that would completely block the light coming in my living room window. When I stumbled upon the Black-Out Velvet Curtains from The Lakeside Collection I knew this was just what I was looking for.
The panels were a bit high at $19.95 each, but when they arrived I felt like they were worth double that. These curtain panels are extremely thick. The velvet has an acrylic backing that adds a nice weight. With this amount of weight, the curtains help keep my home warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Of course the big thing is, how well do they block out light? These curtains do not let any light in. I absolutely love them. I can finally sit down and watch a movie in theater-like darkness.

Sounds like a good product if you need them.
Wow, these sound like great curtains at a very reasonable price. Glad they're so effective, I'll have to see if they still have them for my son's room.
Sounds fantastic! I have a glare from the front window on my big screen tv and those would be perfect :) Thanks for sharing this one!
The sun is huge issue in my household also. Sounds like something I could use.
These sound awesome, but how wide/long is the panel?
Sounds like these would also make great curtains in a bedroom to completely block out light!
