Cute 'Lil 10 Cup Rice Cooker By jayjay1113 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Yesterday I went to a warehouse sale and picked up this cute little Rival 10-cup rice cooker. Our old rice cooker's lid broke when my husband dropped it on the floor so we really needed a new one, and the price was right! It comes with a lid, staming basket inner pot, base (heating unit) with handles, rice ladle and measuring cup.The lid and inner pot were easy to wash and dried quickly as I was determined to try it out yesterday.

The Rival 10-cup rice cooker is really small and doesn't take up much counter space (not like HUGE one we had before!). I was really skeptical that something so small would be able to cook 10-cups of rice, so I HAD to put it to the test. I read the instructions and poured 5 cups of uncooked rice into a bowl to wash it. Then, poured the washed rice in to the inner pot of the rice cooker. I then pushed the power switch to 'Cook' and helped th kids with their costumes. I had put some seasing on the rice and soon the fragrant smell filled the air. Within no time I heard a 'click' that signalled the rice was finished cooking. The rice came out great!

You can aslo use the steaming basket to steam vegetables (like cabbage, cauliflower, celery and even asparagus) and cook rice at the same time. The instruction booklet also has recipes in it for quick meals. This is a good rice cooker.
