If you don't know by now, a Mag-Lite is a big ol' flashlight that mostly cops use, but you can buy them pretty much anywhere. Here are some pros and cons. (As always.)
Pros
1. Its good for whacking people. (Theives, goblins, vampires, and such.)
2. Its really bright when it has 3 good D cell batteries in it. (Not to mention that it increases whacking power.)
3. Made out of some sort of tough metal.
4. Suposedly made in the USA!
5. Has an adjuster cap on the top, by the light, that makes it focus the light different.
6. The on/off switch hasn't broke (yet) in 10 years. (Unlike many others.)
7. Has a nice a grip in the middle.
Cons
1. It uses batteries like a madman, even when its not on.
2. It hurts when you get whacked with it.
Thats it!
So, as you can see the pros, very much so, outweigh this cons so, I would recommend this flashlight to anyone besides, little kids that play too many video games (such as myself) and theives, they WILL whack you back!

I still have my Mag-Lite I got over 13 years ago and it's funny (in an informative way) you mention about whacking people because when I worked for the state, we were told if we ever were in a situation that the Mag-Lite was a good defense tool. Especially for women who were out on the road alone.
