Dagoba Organic Rich Dark Chocolate

I was able to get Dagoba Organic New Moon Rich Dark Chocolate free with a coupon. I stayed up until 12:03 AM , on June 23, 2009, to enter a giveaway on their website. The first 2009 people who entered were rewarded with a coupon mailed to them; I was one of the lucky 2009.

The bar I got was 2 oz. / 56 g. I split it with someone and it was the perfect amount. There are 260 calories in the whole bar, as well as 22 grams of fat.

New Moon is 74% cacao and was indeed rich dark chocolate. The flavor is very strong, bitter and sweet at the same time. It is super chocolatey, but also tastes of fruit, like raisins. I checked the ingredients, but there was no fruit listed. The only ingredient in the bar is organic dark chocolate and milk.

I personally found the flavor of the dark chocolate to be too strong. If I could do it all over again, I would have found a less dark bar.

I could tell the chocolate was good quality because the chocolate was organic. I can be a sucker for that. I also liked how the bar looked. It was comprised of smaller bars and each was embossed with the named, Dagoba.

After eating the chocolate, I got a really nice "chocolate high."
