Daredevil

With the proliferation of superhero movies out there, even B-list heroes are getting in on the action. That's not necessarily an indication of the quality of the movie (e.g. The Hulk is a major player but his movie wasn't great, the Fantastic Four are extremely high profile and their movies mostly blow in comparison to stunners like Batman Begins, X-Men or Spiderman). Still, a movie about a second tier hero can set off some warning bells. Such is the case with Daredevil - while not one of Marvels hot properties, he did deserve a movie. And this one tries so hard to be a good one; high production values and good action. Unfortunately it also can border on anti-climatic. The plot is prone to long stretches where little happens and a lack of deep material. Daredevil is certainly better than Catwoman (the consensus worst superhero movie so far) but it's clearly a step away from the best the genre has to offer.
