I recently got married this past winter and used my husband's sisters as bridesmaids. It was a hard situation to try and find bridesmaid dresses because I lived 6 hours from them and they were on a very tight budget. I had looked in my town at some other bridesmaid dresses from other designers but they were too pricey for them. I then went on the David Bridal's website to see what they had (The nearest David's Bridal was over an hour away) and if anything caught my fancy. I wanted black knee length dresses. I had the bridesmaids go to David's Bridal with my mom and sister and they had tried on for them some knee length black dresses. One of my bridesmaids, I hate to say, is built like a football player and pretty much walked like one too. My mom called me to suggest I rethink about having floor length dresses and to look up style: 81457. I wasn't crazy about it online but since it looked good on the bridesmaid and was affordable I was ok with it.
Finally the day of the wedding comes and I finally get to see the dresses. My other bridesmaid picked out a really pretty floor length dress, I think style: F11165, that I was happy with. Her sister finally came out of the dressing room and I was pretty happy with the results. The cut of the dress was very flattering and the straps were just wide enough to wear a bra under. What I didn't like was that the back was cut just a little too low so if you did wear a bra, you could see the clasp (which is what happened). I also wasn't super crazy about the material and it was a lighter black than I had wanted. The material seemed a little rough and kind of cheap looking. But, if you are on a budget, are on the pudgier side, and want a floor length dress with thick straps, this one fits the bill. I think there are prettier dresses than the one she picked out but it worked for her.

It's so hard to pick out dresses for all the different sizes and shapes women come in. Glad you were able to find something at David's that worked even if it was not exactly what you had in mind.

Who doesn't know some women built like a football player. There were a few times in my life, that was me. I am happy you could figure the problem out and fix it where everyone is pretty. Thanks for sharing.
