Davids Bridal Dresses More Bridesmaids Then... By kateri27 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have been in more weddings then I care to count. About half of them seem to have the bridesmaid dress from Davids Bridal.
For my friend Jessica's wedding I was pregnant so I she had the added challenge of dressing her girls in matching dresses that a pregnant girl could also pull off.
The Spaghetti Strap long chiffon dress with empire waist worked perfectly. She chose black which was flattering on everyone. One of the benefits of buying a dress at Davids is that everyone can try on the dress at the store. This was not the case with the bridesmaid dress that I had my girls wear. They only carried the dress in a size 10. I was able to go into Davids bridal, grab a size 16 off the rack and try it on. No guess work and no embarrassing measurements (especially with and expanding belly).
The dress was a little on the expensive side for something that I was only going to wear once and I was disappointed in the construction. I wore it one day and one of the seams ripped.
What I did like about the dress was that it was very figure flattering. I liked the fact that it was loose enough to fit over my pregnant belly. The beading on the empire waist was stylish and added a little bling to a basic black dress.
I still have this dress in my closet. I could actually wear it again if I were to get it shortened.
Davids Bridal Style - F12495 Purchased at: Davids Bridal Price: $155.00

But the ripping speaks yet again to David's shoddy materials. Bottom line they have a nice market share of a niche product. and could do so much better with it then they have. Guess they need Froggy to fix it for them:)
Nice description on the dress. It is too bad that the material was not of better quality. A $155 dress should be made from a nicely woven material so that it does not fall apart.
I think this dress should have lasted longer for the price you had to pay. I am happy that you felt good wearing it while pregnant. I hope you get to wear it again someday. I have never worn any of the bridesmaid dresses again that I own!
My daughter got her wedding dress and bridesmaid's dresses at David's Bridal
This sounds pretty...remember when all bridesmaids dresses were hideous??LOL
Expensive, but most bridesmaid dresses are. Sounds like it is a beautiful dress!
I hate to put something on and the seams rip. Expecially if I paid a fortune for it. Sounds beautiful though.
It sounds really lovely... too bad it ripped a bit. But hey, at least you looked good! So important while pregnant. :) Thanks for sharing your experience with this brand of bridesmaid dress!
Seams ripping with one gentle use? Not good! Glad it fit well, though.
I'm so glad you were able to be comfortable & look beautiful in your bridesmaid's dress!!
