While on business I stayed at the Days Inn in Champaign, Illinois. My experience was horrible. I have to tell people to stay far away from this hotel.

When I checked in the staff seemed very short and didn't want to do their job. I gave them the benefit of the doubt of just having a bad day.

When I got to my room, it was OK enough. The lightning was poor though and the room was very basic. I was OK with that since I was just staying one night and leaving bright and early the next morning. The halls in the hotels seems dirty, like the staff does not take the time to vacuum them.

The hotel does have a breakfast in the morning, but it was joke. It was prepackaged danish rolls and coffee. That was the breakfast offered. The breakfast "room" was a little table next to the check in desk.

Before going to sleep I called for a wake up call at 5:00am. They never did the wake up call. I did not get up until 6:45am, which made me late. When I went to complain there was only a housekeeping person on duty in the front desk, who barely spoke a word of English. I asked for the manager but that person was not in. I did not have the time to wait around as I was already late so I left with their business card to wirte a formal complaint later.

When I got home from my trip I was checking my credit card statements and I noticed the hotel charged my account twice! When I called to speak to the manager he claims I never checked in so they automatically charged my card. I told him I was there and told him the bad service I got and he said he would have to look into it. After getting the run around for a few days, I filed a fraud charge with my credit card company and finally the hotel credited the extra charge back to my account.

I would never stay at this Days Inn again. I would tell everyone that listens to stay far away from this hotel. It has been the worst hotel service I have ever gotten.
